Clean Seed Services

At Innisfail Babinda Cane Productivity Services (IBCPSL), our Clean Seed Program is a cornerstone of sustainable sugarcane production in Innisfail, Babinda, and Far North Queensland. We provide growers with access to high-quality, disease-free planting material, helping to improve crop health, maximise yields, and reduce the risk of disease and pest transmission.

IBCPSL manages multiple strategically located clean seed plots, including sites at Martyville Road, Babinda Central, and Babinda Dickson Road. These plots are carefully monitored and maintained using best-practice agronomic standards, ensuring that every cane cutting supplied to growers meets strict disease-free and quality criteria.

By combining advanced agronomy, field inspections, and DNA-based variety verification, our Clean Seed Program supports long-term sugarcane productivity and sustainability. Partnering with MSF Sugar, local growers, and industry research bodies, IBCPSL continues to innovate and maintain the region’s supply of healthy, high-performing cane varieties — providing a strong foundation for profitable and resilient farms.

Early detection allows growers to take fast, effective action and prevent the spread of infection across their farms and neighbouring crops.

Through our Clean Seed Program, IBCPSL supplies high-quality, disease-free planting material produced under strict management standards. Combined with regular on-farm inspections and grower education, this program forms the foundation of long-term cane disease prevention and control in the region.

IBCPSL works closely with MSF Sugar, local growers, and national research partners to ensure our strategies reflect the latest industry best practices. Our proactive approach to sugarcane disease management helps safeguard productivity, improve plant resilience, and strengthen the overall sustainability of the local sugar industry.
